Becoming an Artimis Model

It is impossible to realistically cover all aspects of the modeling industry in just one web page.  Getting the best possible exposure and gaining valuable experience are two important areas which models must aspire to if they are going to be successful.

Everyone has to start somewhere so the following points will help you getting that all important start to your modeling career.

What details should I include on my application?

You will need to supply the following information: full name, modelling name (if applicable), address, contact phone numbers (landline, daytime and mobile), your statistics and a couple of snap shots (one face and one full length), so that we can get an idea of your look and shape.

Will I be charged for joining Artimis?

No, but you'll need some professional photographs taken; we can recommend a photographer for you but you will be liable for these costs.

How much will this cost?

It depends on how many shots you'd like to add to your portfolio.  We prefer to use our approved photographers as they will supply photos in our preferred styles, but this is not compulsory.  Photographers charge anything from £100 to £500 for a portfolio shoot; this fee may include use of a make-up-artist.

We have signed special deals with local professional photographers.  They will provide us with the styles and photographs which are most effective for a model's portfolio.  These images are the ones that are going to get you work.  We will give you details of these photographers when you come in to meet us and we list test photographers in our links page on the website.

Okay, I'll get some photographs; will I need a make-up artist?

Application of make-up for photography is subtly different to normal make-up as it needs to be precise in its application.  However, a trained make-up artist is not always used at a photographic shoot.  We have access to trained photographic make-up artists; also the photographers that we use can advise and supply professional make-up artists.

What happens next?

Having got your photographs, you now have the basic means with which to start your modeling career.  You may wish to consider other methods of promotion to accelerate your career.  These include index cards, e-cards, model books / agency directories and web sites.  However, all of these will have a cost attached, so please consider them carefully.

Again we have special deals with local designers who can help and advise you with these options.

You've got my photographs, what will Artimis do for me now?

We will actively promote you, although it doesn't stop there!  We will advise you on further stages of building up your portfolio and experience, using different looks, styles or photographers.  You will never stop learning, developing and improving your own skills and portfolio.
