Q. What is a fitting model?
A. The best way to describe a ‘fitting model’ is a live mannequin.
All clothes brands and high street fashion houses will from time to time need to use fitting models when they are designing their seasonal range.
Each clothes brand and fashion house have specific sizes that they prefer to base their clothing samples on. For example a brand may supply sizes 6 – 26 across their female range but will have their samples made to fit a size 12 & 24 therefore they will need a fitting model to fit their sample sizes.
Q. Do I need to be a certain height or size?
A. Yes, you will need to be the same height and measurements required by each individual company. Every different company sizes are based on specific measurements;
FEMALE:
You may have noticed that you wear a different size dependant on the brand or company? You may be a size 10 with one company or a 12 with another or a medium with one and a large with another, this is due to each company having their own specific measurements or grading per size.
We are asked for different sizes and heights i.e. petite range, tall range, standard range. Female size 6 – 26 and Male medium to XXL.
Q. Do I need experience or qualifications as I haven’t modelled before?
