Its impossible in just one web page to cover all aspects of the modelling industry. We will add further information to this page as my time permits!
For now consider the following points,
I want to be a Model, so...
What should I include in my application?
You will need to supply the following information:-
Name, Modelling Name, Address, Contact phone numbers (Landline, Daytime, and Mobile), Your statistics and a couple of snap shots one face and one full length, so that we can get an idea of your look and shape.
Will I be charged for joining Artimis?
No, but you'll need some professional photographs taken, we can recommend a photographer for you. You can also opt for an extended portfolio on our wesite, which we do charge for. This allows more information to be added and gives you a preferential listing on our database
How much will this cost me?
It depends on how many shots you'd like to add to you portfolio. We prefer to use our approved photographers as they will supply photos in our preferred styles, but this is not compulsory. There are photographers out there who will charge models £100's for their portfolio shoot. We have special deals with local professional photographers, who provide us with the styles and photographs which are most effective for a models portfolio. You should not have to spend more that £70 for a starter folio. This is just a base to work from and you should put as much work into producing a folio as you would for any CV, These images are the ones that are going to get you work.
What happens then?
Having got your photographs, you now have the barest minimum, to start your career. You may wish to use other methods of promotion to accelerate your career, these include Index cards, ecards, Model Books/Agency Directories and Web Sites. All these have a cost attached to them, so consider them carefully.
We have special deals with local designers who can help you and advise you with these options.
Ok, I'll get some photographs, will I need a make-up artist?
Application of make-up for photography, is subtly different to normal make-up as it needs to be precise in its application, however a trained make-up artist is not always used at a photographic shoot. We have access to trained photographic make-up artists, also the photographers that we use can also advise and supply professional make-up artists.
You've got my photographs, what will you do for me now?
We at Artimis will promote you. Although that isn't the end of the matter. We will advise you on further stages of building up your portfolio and experience, using different looks, styles or photographers. You will never stop learning, developing and improving your own skills and portfolio.
Good Luck!
